Science Honor Society

French Club
Happy National French Week! Did you know…French is one of the easiest languages for English speakers to learn. French and English share many similarities in vocabulary and grammar. About 30% of English vocabulary originates from French, primarily due to historical and cultural influences.

Happy National French Week! Did you know…French is the 6th most spoken language in the world. French is officially spoken on every continent and it is the official language of 29 countries. By this year, French is expected to be spoken by nearly 500 million people globally.
National Art Honor Society
There will be a National Art Honor Society meeting on Wednesday, March 19th, after school in Room 015. All application forms to join the National Art Honor Society or become an Honorary Member are due by Friday, March 21st. Please see your Art Teacher or Mrs. O'Hanlon to pick up or submit an application, or if you have any questions. See you Wednesday!
EGO
There will be an EGO meeting tonight in the cafeteria at 7:00pm. Everyone is invited to attend to help plan our upcoming pep rally and spirit week.

Period 8 teachers, please excuse Going Green Students participating in the Waverley Sustainability Day at 1:35 today. The Going Green bake sale is Tuesday and Wednesday during the lunch periods. Sustainability Fun Fact of the Week: the Amazon rainforest produces around 20% of the world's oxygen, despite only covering 6% of the Earth's surface. Remember to recycle blue bins are for paper and green bin are for bottles and cans.
Building For Tomorrow
Support the Fuller Center and join Building For Tomorrow on Saturday, March 29 from 12- 3 pm for our first annual car wash in front of the High School circle. Tell friends and family. The Fuller Center helps rebuild homes damaged in flood and fire and build homes for those in need.

Happy National French Week! Did you know…Several states of the US and Canada speak French. Several American states have native speakers of French dialects. Louisiana, Vermont, Michigan, Maine, North Dakota, Missouri, and Massachusetts are among the states with a Francophone population. Additionally, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, all have French-speaking populations. French is also the official language of Canada.

Happy National French Week! Did you know…Most people speaking French live in Africa and not France. The African continent is home to approximately 120 million people who speak the French language. In 29 African countries, the official language is French. These include Burundi, Mali, Senegal, Nigeria, and the Ivory Coast. The language is spoken alongside the inhabitant’s indigenous languages.

All proceeds will be donated to the non-profit organization, My Sisters' Place, to help them in their mission to end domestic violence by providing education, legal services, shelter, resources and community outreach efforts. Please stop by and buy some baked goods to show your support!

Interestingly enough, the language’s popularity continues to increase as French-speaking countries in Africa continue to grow and develop. Current projections show that the population of French speakers around the world could increase to over 750 million by 2050. There are currently 500,000 French teachers instructing over 120 million students worldwide.
