Wellness

At the Eastchester School District, wellness is a cornerstone of our mission to support the whole student. We believe that true success comes from nurturing the intellectual, emotional, and physical well-being of all our students, staff, and the community members.

Wellness in a school environment is not just about academic achievement, but also fostering a sense of belonging, emotional resilience, and physical health. By integrating programs and resources that address these three pillars of wellness within the Eastchester School District, we aim to create a thriving community of learners where every individual feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.

It is important to note that we believe wellness extends beyond the classroom and into the community, acknowledging that students are most successful when supported by engaged families and robust community partnerships. Our approach is holistic, incorporating evidence-based practices, proactive initiatives, and innovative programs to ensure that wellness remains a top priority for every child within our schools.

As a result we have built out four key components to best support this work.

INTELLECTUAL

Supporting academic growth, curiosity, and lifelong learning through personalized guidance, rigorous curriculum, and opportunities for exploration.

PHYSICAL

Encompassing health services, safety initiatives, and education on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

EMOTIONAL

Building resilience, emotional intelligence, and supportive relationships.

INITIATIVES & PARTNERSHIPS

Expanding opportunities for students and the community through collaborations with organizations like White Plains Hospital, Sandy Hook Promise, and the Harris Project.
